This month I have been spending a lot of hours nursing my newborn. Which means I've also been spending a lot of hours on Pinterest, because what else is a girl to do at one o'clock in the morning during a two hour cluster feeding binge?
I don't really feel like I'm having a milk supply problem, but I also want to make sure that I don't develop one, and that I'm giving my body (and my baby) all the nutrients needed for a healthy and happy start at life. I've been googling foods with galactagogues in it, which is a fancy term for "milk boosters" and are found in ingredients like oats, milk thistle and fenugreek. There's some debate on whether or not eating these foods help a lot, but who really needs another reason to eat chocolate chip cookies?
There were thousands of yummy recipes that I came across online, but most had ingredients like milk, butter, honey and eggs. Eventually, I rounded up some tasty vegan alternatives and thought it would be awesome to share these awesome recipes with you guys! Let me know how you like 'em in the comments below!
